Sunday 23rd June - walk ***** – Falkenham circuit – sunny and hot.

What a stunning day here in Suffolk, wall to wall sunshine with the sky to most beautiful blue with light winds, there was a chance of a sea breeze later but I am not overly keen on marginal foiling and being a hot weekend it was going to be busy on the coast so after having a brilliant morning at home in our quiet little garden where I did my exercise while Mag pottored with her many flowering plants:) Then for a change mag made todays picnic, a yummy salad and left overs from our tea yesterday with some friends:) We then drove inland away from the crowds parking up at Falkenham church and ejoyed a peaceful lunch with ‘Emily’ hardly seeing a soul, just lovely and nice to see some yachts sailing on the River Deben I the distance! There was a row of fluffy clouds inland but a sea breeze was holding them back, then while Mag took the rucksack back to the van I took some pics of the wheat field before setting off along the lane before deciding to turn right and take the long route down to the Deben, being hot it we amabled along enjoying the beautiful scenery, even spotting a deer jumping in a wheat field. We made it to the Deben where a few yachts were sailing in a nice breeze before turning left down to the dyke where one side was a big family of ducks with loads of duckling with a family of swans the other! Continuing across farmland with all the crops coming on really well, past the sewage works and small resivoir and back to the road, past some nice cottages and back to the van knackered after walking just over 4 miles. Driving back we spotted three hare leaping about and stopped to watch. At Felixstowe we made a detour to The Dip to check the conditions and it was fairly light and very crowded so we made the right decision to go and find some peace and quiet! Looks like we are in for a spell of hot weather with light winds!
